Did You Know?
Apparently.. On average, a person will spend a total of 190 minutes a day on the internet.
Every. Single. Day.

The First on a website Impression is the Last

0.5s. That's how long it takes you to judge a website

Around 7 million blog posts get published per day.
We Like Them Pretty
Every single one if us is guilty of this and equally so, all of us have heard of the “don’t judge a book by its cover,” saying.
The truth is that it takes us a shockingly short amount of time to decide whether or not to continue on a website we are visiting. It’s almost subconscious.
It’s actually rather simple. We are pre-programmed to love things that look good, making it very easy for us to judge websites that immediately influence perceptions and therefor, of credibility.

Left To Right
It shouldn’t be a surprise that we browse websites from the top left corner to the right. It’s how we’ve been trained to search for data and information from a very young age.
If we were to delve a little deeper into this, we will see that statistics show us that we actually browse in an ‘F’ pattern. Interesting yes, but why? Essentially, what this tells us is that, the more we scroll down on a website, the more we lose focus and start mainly scanning the website instead of actually being interested in what we are reading/seeing.

We don't like Fancy Fonts
We ignore Fancy Fonts. This seems to be something inaccurate, right? If you are anything like most of us, we are absolutely drawn to those pretty pictures that have the scrolling writing that looks so elegant.
Well yes, but we are talking about whether you enjoy reading an entire blog post or website info in that font. This is something that has been proven many times over. Plain fonts are the most visually appealing way we take in the most information.

Size Absolutely Matters
Big pictures attract more attention than small ones.
In a few short seconds the right image can tell us exactly what services the website has to offer. The size and level of quality brings, yet another saying to mind: “a picture tells a thousand words.”
Images are key elements for making a website visually appealing. Therefor, a large, well-placed image will only require a quick glance for us to know about the business and the services they deliver.

Slow
They say that you should take simple precautions before you marry the person you love. To get to know them well, you should simply put them in front of a computer with a slow connection.
Waiting for images to load is something that is a very effective trigger for most. So if we find ourselves waiting too long for an image to load, we simply move on to another website.
Having said this, the statistics show that we, as users, expect no longer than 2 seconds for an image to load.

In conclusion
Websites are a magnet for judgement—our judgement – and this judgement isn’t limited to the website itself—it carries over into the way users perceive the company as a whole.
A bad website can tarnish a company’s credibility —but a quality website can help a company extend its community .
Responsive web design also plays a massive role in this. So whether you are a simple browser or a business owner looking to improve your website, baring these points in mind will significantly improve your User Experience
